Postcard featuring part of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas).

The sedimentary bed that makes up Kata Tjuta was laid down over about 600 million years, in a shallow sea in what geologists call the Amadeus Basin. The beds buckled, folded and lifted the sediment above sea level.

Location: Kata Tjuta, Northern Territory, Australia.
